About Us

The Blue Mountain Forest Stewardship Initiative (FSI) was founded in 2013 by a group of concerned residents to implement our Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) and address forest health issues in our heavily forested, 600 acre subdivision of 130 homes in the foothills between Golden and Boulder, Colorado.

FSI Events & Signup

The FSI conducts several annual events throughout the summer season to further the goal of minimizing the risk of wildfire and associated property damage within our community, while sustaining the aesthetics of a healthy forest throughout the neighborhood.

Donate

Events are are community funded through donations to the FSI.  Residents are asked to pay for services received by making a donation.

Evacuation & Fire Awareness

This guide will help residents in preparing for and evacuating from wildfire.

Bugs-N-Crud

In an effort to maintain a healthy forest, the B-N-C team was established to evaluate overall tree health within the community as well as to serve as a resource for our residents to diagnose suspected tree issues and provide a recommended course of action to prevent the spread of diseases or infestations.

Education

The FSI provides education relative to forest health and fire protection.  Homeowners can "self-serve" to learn about  the various recommended methods of maintaining your home ignition zone, planning evacuation, and managing the health of your forested land.
